An entry from my investing journal, for members.
We went from aspiring to return to double-digit growth... to merely trying to sell product at full price. Q4 beat expectations, but the beat was mechanical. North America is still shrinking. Margins are compressing. And the Board just appointed a director who grew Levi's revenue at 2% a year for 13 years. Meanwhile, Elliott Investment Management is circling with a $1 billion stake and their own CEO candidate. Until we know who the next CEO is, it's hard to have strong conviction either way.

Before I buy a business, and before I sell one, I write up what I see: what it earns, what it’s worth, what could break it. Members read every entry, back to 2021. At least two new entries a month, more during earnings season.
